Did the great depression affect Russia?
I'm doing research for the AP European history exam coming up, but I can't find any information about Russia in reguards to the Great Depression. I'm not sure if this is because Russia was so strictly contained economically that it didn't affect them, or if I am completely incompitent when it comes to finding information. So, did the depression affect Russia?
Thanks.
not nearly as much as the rest of the world.
the soviet union was economically insular, and although there were several serious famines in parts of the country during the period of the great depression, the fact that the rest of the world got poorer had relatively little impact.
